Dank House started on the South Side and grew the way good shops grow — word of mouth, one regular at a time. There are three now: SW Military in Harlandale, FM 78 in Converse, and Austin Highway. Same idea at all three. Glass, papers, grinders, edibles and CBD, an open counter, and somebody behind it who can actually tell you what's on the shelf.
Walk into SW Military and the selection is sitting right there in front of you instead of hidden behind a menu board. Ask what's what and you'll get a straight answer. Then sit down if you want — there's a dab bar, couches, a roll tray ready to go, and art on the walls worth looking at. Nobody's rushing you out. Converse is a smaller room with the same idea and a glass case people drive across town for.
